Over 1,400 players signed up for the $1,700 buy-in WSOPC Main Event at Harrah’s Cherokee

The $1,700 buy-in World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Main Event at Harrah’s Cherokee drew a massive field of 1,437 players, and when the final hand played out, it was New Yorker Zachary Fischer who claimed the title and $324,135 in prize money. The win also marked Fischer’s first WSOP Circuit ring, making it the largest live cash of his career by a wide margin.

The final table was loaded with tough competition, and four players walked away with six-figure payouts. Shane Lea took fourth place for $109,942, while Warren Sheaves bowed out in third with $153,035. That left Fischer and J.B. Wells to battle heads-up for the ring and top prize.

The duel between Fischer and Wells stretched on for more than two hours and saw both players swing back and forth with major chip leads. Ultimately, Wells was reduced to about 10 big blinds before moving all-in preflop in a hand that did not hold. He finished as runner-up, earning $216,089 for his deep run.

For Fischer, the moment was a career breakthrough. His previous best live score was $135,013, according to Hendon Mob records, and this victory nearly tripled that amount. Along with the prize money, securing a WSOP Circuit ring represents a milestone achievement in any poker player’s journey.

The Cherokee series featured 18 ring events in total and attracted many familiar names from the Circuit. Among the standout performances, Preston McEwen captured his ninth ring by winning a $400 No-Limit Hold’em event.

With Cherokee wrapped up, the WSOP Circuit continues its busy schedule. Events are already underway in Northern California, Atlantic City, and Quebec, giving players across North America more chances to chase rings and big paydays. Fischer’s triumph at Cherokee stands out as one of the most impressive wins so far this season, setting the tone for the year ahead.
