The win gives Kozma access to the huge WPT World Championship event in Las Vegas
David Kozma is the biggest winner so far in Season 21 of WPT Prime, beating 1,644 players to win WPT Prime Liechtenstein in September. The series has attracted significant turnouts during Season 21 while setting several records.
The non-US record of 1,644 entries was set in the sixth-smallest country in the world by size, but in September, Grand Casino Liechtenstein attracted players from across the globe to create a substantial prize pool of over $1.8 million.
When it was over, Bulgarian Kozma took the trophy and a first-place prize of $300,541. It also guaranteed him a seat at the $40 Million Guaranteed WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas in December.
Kozma has made many trips to South Florida to enter tournaments, and his past success in those events made flying from Bulgaria an easy decision. “For one thing, the weather is amazing,” he said. “Right now, it’s snowing in my country, and it’s sunny here. And the numbers are huge. And when the numbers are huge, then it’s gonna be good action.”
Winning WPT Prime Liechtenstein was a life-changing experience for Kozma for several reasons. Besides winning his biggest career title, he more than doubled his highest tournament cash. The win also prompted Kozma to change his plans for a busy month of poker in December.
“I’ll be at Wynn for sure,” Kozma said. “The Prime title I won came with a seat to the World Championship. So, while I wasn’t originally planning to go to Vegas in December, it made that decision easy.”
With his ticket in hand for the signature event, Kozma thought since he was already going to Las Vegas, he should also take advantage of the extensive calendar of tournaments scheduled for the month.
