Sepiol continues a strong run at the felt that he began last year
Dan Sepiol has been on a fantastic run since taking the $5.2 million first prize at the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas six months ago. Since then, Sepiol has earned the Global Poker Award for ‘Best Final Table Performance’ and reached his second WPT final table at April’s WPT Voyage festival. After descending on Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker (WSOP), he also proved to the poker world that his recent run was no fluke.
Sepiol won his first career WSOP bracelet on Sunday, overcoming 1,534 entrants to take the $305,849 first-place prize in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold ’em Shootout event. “Feels amazing, man,” said Sepiol. “I’ve been chasing a bracelet for years now.”

During heads-up play, Sepiol didn’t panic as he overcame more than a 16 to 1 chip deficit against Robert Natividad to earn the victory. “It doesn’t feel good, especially when you just bluffed off your entire stack,” he said. “But I just kind of played my stack with what was in front of me and just tried to make the best decisions going from there.”
Sepiol had a large group of friends and supporters at the rail during heads-up play, who cheered every time the cards fell in his favor during the impressive comeback. “It means a lot to me,” Sepiol said of the overwhelming support. “I got so many you know, good luck [messages], [friends] along the rail, and you know, that feels good.”
Sepiol didn’t spend much time celebrating his victory, as he still has many opportunities to continue his career-best run. “There’s too much poker to celebrate, really,” he said. “I’ll play the 25K tomorrow, and that’s about it.”
