The poker tournament for Ontario players proved to be a huge success

The ONCOOP Main Event generated a prize pool of CAD 206,360 (US $150,251), with 87 players in the money, including “dusty truth,” who finished 83rd for CAD 682 (US $497) and won three events at the series. PokerStars team pro Arlie “Prince Pablo” Shaban would finish 17th for CAD 1,833 (US $1,335).

“wrsport1015” was the winner of the event, taking home CAD 27,976 (US $20,369) after chopping three ways with “Mgh.Ca” in second for CAD 26,335 (US $19,175) and “TeeWee55” in third for CAD 25,561(US $18,611).

Both “Mgh.Ca” and “TeeWee55” already had wins in the series. “Mgh.Ca” won ONCOOP 59: Session Starter, and “TeeWee55” took two titles during the series, winning ONCOOP 12: Ontario Open Championship and ONCOOP 33: Super Tuesday High Roller.

As the champion, “wrsport1015” was also awarded a $25,000 prize package, including an entry to compete in the NAPT in Las Vegas this Winter.

While “wrsport1015” took down the prestigious Main Event title, “92c92m” was the player with the most wins at the festival, with six first-place finishes earning them CAD 47,212 (US $34,375). He started their impressive streak by taking back-to-back wins on September 26 in Events 83 and 84 and followed that up by finishing in eighth and ninth place in Event 85 and Event 89, respectively, on the same day.

“windexxxx” wasn’t far behind them with five wins and four players, “birddy420,” “dusty truth,” “FireFaux,” and “I want YerFG” would tie for third with three wins apiece.
