The British poker pro pulls off another great performance at the felt
The 2023 Poker Masters paid out $11,065,000 million in prizes throughout its ten series events, with British poker pro Stephen Chidwick as the only player to reach seven figures in cashes at the series, which was held at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino Las Vegas. During the series, Chidwick would record four final-table finishes, one title, $1,109,000 in prizes and 688 PokerGO Tour points.
Chidwick would also finish at the top of the festival’s points leaderboard to win the Poker Master Purple Jacket and a $50,000 championship bonus, bringing his total winnings for the series to over $1.15 million. He now has over $53 million in career cashes, putting him third on the all-time money list behind Bryn Kenney ($65.3 million) and Justin Bonomo ($64.4 million). He also leads the all-time money list in England, ahead of Sam Trickett by more than $31 million.
60 players took home prizes during the 2023 Poker Masters, with 30 gaining multiple cashes. Chidwick was one of seven players who cashed four or more times during the series.
Chidwick didn’t record any cashes until Event #6, the series’ final $10,000 buy-in event, finishing sixth among 95 players to earn $57,000 and 57 PGT points. He shifted into high gear for the final three events, starting with his dominant performance in the $25,000 buy-in Event #7, where he outlasted 50 entrants to win $400,000 and 240 points. The next day, he finished third in the series’ penultimate event and added another $148,000 and 89 PGT points to his total.
Chidwick secured the Purple Jacket after finishing as runner-up to Jonathan Jaffe in the $50,000 buy-in series finale, earning $504,000 and 302 PGT points.
