The man most poker players know as ‘apestyles’ has become a WPT Global ambassador
WPT Global has announced the latest poker star to be signed as an ambassador. Twitch poker phenom Jonathan Van Fleet, aka “apestyles,” will join other stars such as Andrew Neeme, Ethan “Rampage” Yau, Brad Owen and Phil Ivey as part of the team of WPT ambassadors.
To get the new association off to a fast start, WPT Global is providing free tournament tickets by following the instructions in the tweet announcing Van Fleet as the new ambassador. Van Fleet is dominant on both the live and virtual table, registering over $22 million in career online tournament earnings and has another $868,064 in live poker winnings.
Van Fleet has also built up a company of fans thanks to his amusing Twitch streams and short YouTube poker vlogs. The Canadian nearly won his first World Series of Poker bracelet this summer but finished in fourth place in Event #44: $3,000 No Limit Hold’em for his biggest career live cash of $238,546.
Van Fleet noted on X, “I am extremely PUMPED to announce that I’m joining @wpt_global as a WPT Global Ambassador! It is a privilege to be sponsored by such an incredible group and I look forward to the work we will do together!”
Fans will also be able to greet the newest WPT ambassador at the WPT Premier Meet Up Game, which is currently running at The Wynn in Las Vegas.
The announcement of the newest WPT Ambassador is just ahead of the WPT World Championship scheduled from December 12-21, with a record $40 million in guaranteed prizes. The WPT festival began on December 1 and wraps up on December 23.
