The veteran poker pro is going to play two ClubWPT players simultaneously
Ten-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey continues his busy schedule as World Poker Tour ambassador, with upcoming appearances at the WPT Japan in Tokyo and the WPT Premier Meet-Up Game at the Wynn in Las Vegas. However, his next WPT event will be at the Phil Ivey WPT Duel, where he’ll compete against two ClubWPT contestants simultaneously in heads-up duels.
“Since Phil joined the WPT family as an official ambassador, we have aimed to integrate him into the ClubWPT landscape,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska to reporters. “It is an honor to offer ClubWPT members this opportunity to face the best and land an unforgettable experience, win or lose.”
Players can qualify for the Phil Ivey WPT Duel on ClubWPT, with the top two qualifiers earning a $2,500 WPT Prime Championship Passport and a seat at the table with Ivey at the event scheduled to run at 5 PM EST on November 19.
The top two players will head to Wynn Las Vegas on December 10, where they’ll both play against the legend simultaneously in heads-up matches on the Wynn’s Encore Ballroom’s main stage.
“Looking forward to playing heads up against the two ClubWPT players at the same time,” said Ivey. “Should be fun and competitive.”
If one or both players are lucky enough to beat Ivey in their head-up matches, not only can they boast about defeating one of the world’s best poker pros, but they’ll also earn a seat at the $10,400 WPT World Championship tournament later in the series.
