Eljach beat a field of 719 players to earn his second WSOPE bracelet in Rozvadov
Omar Eljach has won his second bracelet after navigating a 719-player field to win Event #2: €550 Pot Limit Omaha 8-Max at the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe, taking home the €65,900 ($70,144) top prize at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Eljach won the 2022 WSOPE Main Event and now has over €2,000,000 ($2,129,000) in live career tournament earnings.
Nine players were at the final table, with Michal Mrakes the first to be eliminated when he lost his short stack after going all-in preflop to Eljach’s straight. Anson Tsang was second in chips to start Day 3, losing most of them when Eljach cracked his aces and eventually giving all of them to the champion a short time later. He would take home €6,700 ($7,131) in 8th place.
Eljach eliminated two more players over an extended period of play, which saw Patrik Jaros finish 7th for €8,700 ($9,260), Martino Cito claimed 6th place for €11,500 (12,241), and Ihar Pliashko took 5th place and €15,500 ($16,498) after they all fell in quick succession.
Michael Rodrigues was quiet at the final table but became the victim of increasing blinds, eventually losing a blind vs. blind battle against Eljach and finishing fourth to win €21,000 ($22,352). Roland Israelashvili saw his luck run out after going down to Volcovschi’s nut flush to take 3rd place and €29,100 ($30,974).
Volcovschi made it all the way to heads-up play after starting Day 3 as the short stack. However, she would go all-in on the second hand and flop a flush, only to lose to Eljach’s higher flush and finish second for €40,700 ($43,321) to give Eljach the victory.
