The first-time WSOP winner bagged $237,924 off the $1,000 buy-in event
Mitchell Hynam ended his 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) summer on the highest possible note by claiming his first gold bracelet in the final event of the series. Event #100, the $1,000 Super Turbo No-Limit Hold’em, drew 1,935 entries and wrapped up with Hynam collecting $237,924 and a coveted piece of WSOP gold.
Fresh off a deep 49th-place finish in the Main Event, Hynam wasn’t quite ready to head home. Instead, he entered one more tournament, originally taking a lighthearted approach. But once his stack began to grow, his mindset shifted.
“I didn’t really care at the start, but once I got chips, I had to take it seriously,” Hynam said after the win.
That change in focus paid off. Though he entered the final stretch with a short stack, he picked up momentum with a key double-up against Nadav Bitton. That pot brought him over four million in chips and sparked a run that saw him take over the table. In a dominant final table performance, Hynam eliminated all eight remaining players, starting with Alexander Duvall and ending with Bitton, whom he beat heads-up after flopping a set.
Hynam’s road to victory was fast and aggressive, fitting for a turbo event where decisions are made quickly and chip swings are constant. Despite the pressure and the pace, Hynam remained composed and methodical.
The field was packed with star power, but many big names fell early. Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Erik Seidel all failed to make the money.
Hynam started playing poker just six or seven years ago, grinding in local casinos. Now, he’s officially a WSOP champion—and he earned it on one of the game’s biggest stages.
