Daniel Kwon was arrested in Toronto and faces numerous sexual assault charges
A regular face from streamed high-stakes poker has been charged in a serious criminal case in Canada. Daniel Kwon, a poker player known to viewers of Hustler Casino Live, was arrested in Toronto and now faces multiple charges tied to an alleged sexual assault.
Toronto police say the incident stems from an event held on Jan. 15, where Kwon allegedly met a woman who later reported being sexually assaulted. Investigators arrested the 39-year-old following a search of his residence in the city. Authorities believe there may be more victims and have asked anyone with information to contact police.
Kwon has been charged with several offenses, including sexual assault, sexual assault involving choking, and forcible confinement. Police also laid drug-related charges, including possession of Schedule I and Schedule III substances for the purpose of trafficking, along with possession of proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000.
Within poker circles, Kwon is better known by the nickname “Action Dan.” He gained widespread attention during the 2024 Hustler Casino Live Million Dollar Game, where he played two $1 million buy-in sessions on consecutive days. Both appearances ended with heavy losses totaling more than $1.4 million.
Despite limited success in live tournaments, with roughly $23,000 in recorded cashes, Kwon became a familiar figure on livestreams. One of his few televised highlights came when he picked off a large bluff in a pot nearing half a million dollars during the same Hustler Casino Live series.
Kwon has appeared in nearly 30 streamed cash game sessions, including games at Poker at The Lodge in Texas, where he recorded a sizable win driven by one massive hand. Those appearances helped build his online profile despite uneven results.
Police have not released further details about the alleged assault. Kwon was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, and the case remains under investigation as authorities seek additional information.
