Aram Zobian secured a major victory in the series following several final table appearances
The high-stakes poker arena recently witnessed a new display of skill and consistency as Aram Zobian claimed the title in Event 9 of the US Poker Open. After navigating a competitive field of 61 entrants in the $15,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, Zobian walked away with a top prize of nearly $300,000.
This victory marks a significant breakthrough for the Armenian-American professional, who had reached the final table in three consecutive events during this series but had fallen just short of the win in his previous two attempts.
The final table was a gathering of international talent, featuring seasoned players and rising stars alike. Zobian entered the second day of play as the chip leader, eventually facing off against Brandon Wilson in a tense heads-up battle.
Despite starting the final duel at a chip disadvantage, Zobian managed to reclaim the lead and clinch the victory when his hand improved on the flop to overtake Wilson’s holding. Other notable finishers included veteran Chino Rheem, who took third place, and German professional Marius Gierse, who finished in fourth.
Beyond the financial rewards of the tournament, Zobian used his platform to highlight humanitarian efforts close to his heart. Throughout the event, he represented the Natna Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization he co-founded to support youth in the Tigray region of Ethiopia.
Zobian noted that his own Armenian heritage gives him a profound connection to regions affected by conflict and human rights issues. He remains dedicated to providing mutual aid and educational support to children recovering from trauma, viewing his success on the poker circuit as a way to further his mission of global advocacy and relief.
