Espen Jorstad falls short of collecting third WSOP Online bracelet

The player had a good run but fell short of another win

Four more gold bracelets were awarded in the recent 2023 WSOP Online series. Espen Jorstad came close to picking up his third, but came up short against tough competition.

The latest online grinders to claim a piece of WSOP gold hardware were Paulius “redpillgame” Vaitiekunas, Terrence “fr33hongkong” Chan, Yurii “pumbiko_O” Olinyk, and “EEewashu99”. Chan was the latest player to deny 2022 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Espen Jorstad his third online bracelet after taking down the Norwegian in head-up play.

The $25 million guaranteed Main Event also played out on Day 1b, with an additional 325 players entering the $5,000 buy-in event. At the same time, China’s Xinwen Zhang holds the biggest stack at the start of Day 2 of the $500 buy-in Ladies Championship.

Lithuanian Paulius Vaitiekunas grabbed the fourth bracelet of the event after beating the field in the #4: $840 Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha. He outlasted the 706-player field and won the lion’s share of the $564,800 prize pool. His latest win in a bracelet event gave him a prize of $81,848, including $56,953 from bounties.

The win for Vaitiekunas makes him the fifth bracelet winner from Lithuania, putting his home country in the same neighborhood as other countries like Belarus, Indonesia, Switzerland, and South Korea.

Several of the most prominent names in poker also participated, with a few of them making decent runs and coming up short in the end. David Peters finished 88th for $1,144, Dario Sammartino came in 81st place for $1,144 + $200, and Felipe Ramos ended in 95th place for $1,144 + $200.
