A player turned the tournament into a disgraceful show of immaturity with his antics

The PokerGO Tour (PGT) Championship series $1 million freeroll began on Tuesday, but most of the poker community was preoccupied with the behavior of one player who annoyed spectators and several players at the table.

Dream Seat qualifier Jeff Lennon failed to reach the final table that takes place at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas today. However, he definitely made a name for himself after appearing to be intoxicated while using foul language and complimenting the appearance of a female opponent.

Alex Foxen was one of the 54 players at the freeroll event and made it clear in an X post that he wasn’t a fan of the “dream seat” idea, where non-top pros have a chance to qualify. Foxen, a two-time GPI Player of the Year, posted several critical tweets.

“Believe it or not, people enjoy watching high level poker. We don’t need to race to the bottom to try to get views, especially in an event that is supposed to have significant prestige,” Foxen added before commending the PokerGO Tour for “giving back to players” with the freeroll event.

Lennon’s remarks were scrutinized by YouTube viewers who posted in the chat that they didn’t appreciate comments directed towards actress Arden Cho, who is also an amateur poker player. Lennon remained vocal most of the time he appeared on the PokerGo livestream before it eventually switched featured tables. He would later go to the rail in 22nd place.

Six players will battle for the $500,000 first-place prize, with all guaranteed to take home at least $40,000. Seventh-place finisher Samuel Laskowitz failed to cash. Daniel Smiljkovic will bring a significant chip advantage to the final table over Daniel Weinman, who is currently second leading up to Wednesday’s final day.
