The hits keep coming for poker players as the 2024 tournament calendar unfolds
With the conclusion of the 2023 PokerGO Tour season, the new season got started with the 2024 PGT Kickoff featuring four $5,300 buy-ins and one $10,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event from the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The first three events have already been completed, with the top player so far being Card Player Poker Tour Venetian winner David Coleman.
The season’s first tournament attracted 89 entrants, building a $445,000 prize pool divided among the top 13 finishers. Coleman reached the final table in all three events, racking up $221,000 in winnings and 442 PGT points to take the lead in the early PGT leaderboard standings.
Coleman transformed his Day 2 chip lead into a win, taking the $120,150 top prize, and now has almost $4 million in career live earnings. The victory and Coleman’s three final tables at this series have earned him $336,989 so far in 2024.
Two-time Card Player POY winner Stephen Chidwick (3rd for $55,625) and bracelet winner Aram Zobian (2nd for $77,875) also reached the final table in the event.
Coleman would follow up his win and finish fifth in the second event for $31,500 after 90 entrants created a $450,000 prize pool. Dylan Weisman would take the $121,500 top prize for his sixth-largest tournament cash and his biggest payday in a No-Limit Hold’em event.
Justin Young won the third event over 73 entrants for the $105,850 top prize, closing out the tournament with a double knockout of Coleman and Kristen Foxen after flopping a set of eights to bring the event to an abrupt end.
Coleman cashed $69,350 as runner-up, with Foxen taking $49,275 for third place to surpass $7.7 million in career earnings.
