Katherine Kolberg is keeping the family poker legacy alive
Poker talent clearly runs in the family for Katherine Kolberg, who picked up a title during the 2025 DeepStack Extravaganza IV at The Venetian Las Vegas. Kolberg, the daughter of Poker Hall of Famer Jack Keller, added another accomplishment to her long résumé during the month-long series.
The DeepStack Extravaganza ran from late November through December 23 and featured 61 tournaments. More than 8,300 entries were recorded across the schedule, with over $4.6 million paid out in total prize money. Kolberg claimed her win on December 10 in Event #33, a $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot, earning $8,832.
Her run did not stop there. Just days later, Kolberg placed fifth in the $600 T.O.R.S.E. event at the WPT World Championship, collecting another $5,927. The results highlighted her consistency in mixed games and Omaha formats.
Kolberg has been competing in tournaments since the mid-1990s and has now accumulated more than $418,000 in career earnings. Her biggest score remains a $96,000 third-place finish at the 2001 L.A. Poker Classic. Earlier this year, she also won the Venetian’s $1,100 Super Seniors event for $51,768.
Her father, Jack Keller, left a lasting mark on the game. He won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in 1984, captured three WSOP bracelets, and was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1994.
