The German poker pro now has over $6 million in live cashes
The third season of the PokerGO Tour is now complete after more than $352.4 million in prizes were awarded across the series’ 132 events. The final event was the second-annual PGT Championship freeroll featuring the top 40 players on the PGT points leaderboard for the season and 14 Dream Seat winners who played for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. German poker pro Daniel Smiljkovic took the $500,000 top prize for his fourth-largest score, putting him over the $6 million mark in career cashes.
Smiljkovic survived an outstanding tournament run from actress Arden Cho, who began the day as the short stack but fought her way back to earn a career-high $200,000 payday for an impressive runner-up finish after earning an entry as a Dream Seat qualifier. Her previous top payday was $71,400 for finishing 55th at the 2022 WPT World Championship.
Smiljkovic had his best year on the live tournament circuit in 2023, including a third-place finish in the $100,000 buy-in Triton Poker event in Vietnam for $1,450,000. He would also finish third in the $25,00 GGMillion$ high roller at the World Series of Poker Paradise series for almost $1.2 million. Smiljkovic finished 16th on the PGT leaderboard and cashed in three events at the PGT Last Chance festival to help secure his seat at the PGT Championship freeroll.
Daniel Weinman finished in fourth place for $80,000 to secure his second qualified score after winning $12.1 million at last summer’s WSOP main event over 10,043 entrants. Leon Sturm took a $120,000 payday for third place to raise his live career earnings to nearly $5.9 million, with $5.2 million of his winnings earned since the beginning of 2023.
