Several deep runs led the PLO master to the title
Daniel Geeng finished the second PokerGO Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) Series as the top player after winning the $25,200 PLO Championship main event. He would earn nearly $500,000 and also win the PokerGO PLO Series II leaderboard to take the Player of the Series title and an additional $25,000.
Before the PokerGO PLO Series II, Geeng had five tournament cashes in PLO events. His run at this series began when he finished 11th in Event #2 to win $22,350 and 22 leaderboard points. He later ran deep again in Event #3 to increase his total to $42,950 and 43 points but was still far behind the early leaders like Eelis Pärssinen and Veselin Karakitukov.
However, Geeng increased his total after his second-place finish in Event #4, turning his $10,600 buy-in into $172,710. He also added $148,000 in bounties in the event to boost his winnings.
After that near-miss, Geeng waited until the end to give his best performance of the series in the $25,200 PLO Championship, where 75 entrants created a $1,875,000 prize pool.
Geeng held 30% of the chips on the final day, which eventually grew to 70%, with three players remaining at the final table. Karakitukov eventually took down Harsheel Kothari ($243,750) in third place to set up the final duel of the tournament.
On the final hand, Karakitukov moved all-in after the turn with a set of deuces, unaware that Geeng held a set of Kings until he turned them up after making the call. Both hit a full house on the river; however, Geeng’s was better, giving him the $487,500 top prize. Karakitukov took home $337,500 for second place.
