The Wisconsin poker player has won a seat at the massive freeroll event
Dan Dombrowski, a recreational poker player from Wisconsin, is preparing for a unique and exciting challenge: competing against his wife, Missy, in the prestigious ClubWPT Gold $5 Million Freeroll. Both Dan and Missy earned seats through separate contests, marking a competitive yet friendly rivalry for the Madison couple, who are well-known figures in their local poker community.
Dombrowski secured his entry via a media podcast giveaway tied to the promotion of the poker documentary The Ultimate Stack. Participants had to be ClubWPT Gold members and comment on the documentary’s YouTube post to enter the random draw. Dombrowski’s name was chosen during the November 15 podcast, while the couple was vacationing in Mexico. The win came shortly after Dombrowski had expressed his determination to join wife Missy, who had already won her seat through a separate social media contest.
Poker has been a part of Dan’s life since he was introduced to the game by his father, with his passion deepening during the Moneymaker Boom. Over the years, he has amassed more than $116,000 in live tournament earnings, highlighted by a 2019 WSOP Circuit victory in Milwaukee. Despite his successes, Dan remains hungry for a major title and a six-figure payday.
The couple’s friendly rivalry adds an extra layer of excitement to their shared poker journey. Missy edged Dan in Hendon Mob cashes last year, but Dan aims to reclaim bragging rights with a strong performance in the freeroll. Defeating his wife, however, may produce unexpected results at home.
