The German pro outlasted 227 other entries to earn his second Triton title
Christoph Vogelsang added another major trophy to his résumé on Thursday night, capturing the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju II Main Event for just under $4.1 million. The German pro, known for his calm and methodical approach, outlasted a star-studded field of 228 entries to claim his second career Triton title, solidifying his standing among the game’s elite.
The 40-year-old from Sassenberg had previously won his first Triton event in Monte Carlo in 2023, but this latest victory carries even more weight, coming in the festival’s marquee tournament. Vogelsang entered the final table as the chip leader and maintained control throughout, never appearing in serious danger despite the high-caliber lineup around him. His steady play paid off, and by the time the field narrowed to three players, his advantage only grew stronger.
Ben Heath’s elimination in third set the stage for a heads-up clash with Austria’s Samuel Mullur, one of the fastest-rising names on the high-stakes circuit. The two struck an ICM deal before play began, guaranteeing hefty payouts while leaving the title and additional prize money on the line.
Despite expectations of a drawn-out duel, the match was over in just three hands. Vogelsang sealed the win when his rivered two pair topped Mullur’s holding, prompting an all-in call that handed him the title.
This result continues Vogelsang’s remarkable run in Jeju, where he cashed in four of the six events he entered over the past ten days. His consistency underscores why he has long been regarded as one of the toughest competitors on the circuit.
The win also pushes Vogelsang’s lifetime earnings past $40 million, keeping him firmly in second place on Germany’s all-time money list. With countryman Fedor Holz still ahead, this triumph narrows the gap, and Vogelsang’s form suggests that overtaking the top spot is within reach.
