The poker pro comes out on top of another successful tournament series
Maxx Coleman displayed his poker skills across various games at the PokerGO Studios in Las Vegas last night to take the $25,000 Ten-Game Championship Event of the PGT Mixed Games II. However, ‘Chino’ Rheem would push him to the limit and capture the overall championship as the best player of the series after finishing third and taking home the $25,000 bonus.
The Ten Game $25K Championship Event began on Friday and would test players’ skills with a lineup of variants from No Limit Texas Hold ’em to Razz. Poker Hall of Famer John Hennigan entered action on Saturday as the leader with 1.155 million chips, just ahead of Jeremy Ausmus, with 1.05 million. Rheem had 565,000, and Coleman began Day Two with 460,000 chips.
Only five players would earn prizes in this event. Rheem would send Weisman home in fifth place ($50,750), with Hennigan the next to fall in fourth place ($79,750) to Livingston, who took the chip lead over Rheem and Coleman. Rheem would then fall after going all-in against Coleman to finish third for $116,000.
Siting about a million chips behind Livingston, Coleman would negotiate a deal that saw Livingston take $232,870 and Coleman secure $220,630. The game continued with $25,000 on the table and the Championship Event trophy.
The two would battle for the next three hours before Coleman would take command after picking up a Broadway straight and leaving Livingston with 850,000 chips. The final hand would see Coleman pair up tens to beat Livingson’s ace-high to take the Championship and $245,630.
Rheem was clearly the best player of the series, earning $433,600 in prizes and a $25,000 bonus for the title of Overall Champion of the PGT Mixed Games II.
