The Illinois poker pro now has almost $2.7 million in live tournament winnings
Brandon Wilson has cemented his reputation as a dominant force in high-stakes poker tournaments at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. Over the past 16 months, the Illinois native has achieved four major high roller titles at the South Florida venue, contributing significantly to his career earnings. These victories have brought in more than $1.9 million, accounting for the bulk of his nearly $2.7 million in total tournament winnings.
Wilson’s latest triumph came at the WPT Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open $25,500 buy-in event. He emerged victorious from a competitive field of 85 entries, securing the top prize of $602,900, narrowly surpassing the $601,800 he won earlier this year in the same event during the SHR Poker Showdown festival. His other major wins include two $50,000 buy-in high roller events, where he earned $362,780 and $346,775, respectively.
The tournament’s prize pool reached over $2 million, doubling its guarantee, with payouts to the top 12 players. The event’s final table featured accomplished players, including Kristen Foxen, who took seventh place with $84,300, and Shannon Shorr, who secured third with $272,600, pushing his lifetime earnings to nearly $14.4 million. Justin Chu, Wilson’s final opponent, started heads-up play strong but ultimately finished second, earning $402,000.
Wilson’s win added 672 points to his Card Player Player of the Year tally, placing him in 292nd for 2024. The victory also demonstrated his skill in navigating a challenging field of high-profile competitors, further solidifying his position among poker’s elite. With this latest success, Wilson continues to build a remarkable career, establishing himself as a top contender in high-stakes poker.
