The poker pro has scored three big WPT wins this year, as well as other victories
Bin Weng has added another title to his stellar 2023 accomplishments. The 40-year-old Philadelphia pro began the year with his first $1 million cash at the $5,300 buy-in The Return at the Borgata and wrapped it up with another $958,279 after winning the $25,000 World Poker Tour World Championship High Roller event.
The Pennsylvania poker pro also won two WPT titles this year, the $10,500 Everyone for One Drop for his biggest career cash of $2,227,054 and the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $1,128,250. He also won a WSOP Circuit ring after taking the $1,700 Main Event in Las Vegas for $227,344 and was the champion in the $1,600 Mystery Bounty tournament at The Wynn Fall Classic for $147,078.
Weng added ten more final tables in 2023 to his 50 finishes in the money and is favored to win almost every Player of the Year prize. He’s been first on the Global Poker Index leaderboard for 22 weeks, and his latest victory almost guarantees he’ll win the 2023 GPI Player of the Year once 2024 rolls around. Weng won $6.6 million in prizes in 2023 after having just over $1 million in lifetime tournament earnings at the start of the year.
The $25,000 WPT World Championship High Roller event drew 194 players, with Weng and Thomas Boivin ($958,278) being the last two players left. They would make a deal to split the remaining cash and flip for the championship. It was no surprise that Weng won the flip with how he’s played all year.
The WPT World Championships resume for days five and six of the $10,400 main event, with the final table live stream on Thursday at WPT.com.
