The Poker Masters gets underway today, and names like Koon and Schulman are expected to arrive
The eighth edition of the Poker Masters high roller series is set to run from September 14-26 at the PokerGo Studio. Since Steffen Sontheimer won the first series in 2017, the Poker Masters has been one of the highlights on the calendar. Several big names with past success at the Poker Masters are among the favorites this year. Here’s a look at our First Rounders for the 2023 Series.
Alex Foxen has victories in the PokerGO Cup and the US Poker Open, with over $29 million in live earnings. He earned most of that on the PokerGO tour in events at the PokerGO Studio or from events that earned him points on the PokerGo tour. However, he still awaits his first Poker Masters win.
Jason Koon is fifth on poker’s All-Time Money List and has earned a reputation as one of the best tournament players in history. He’s sixth on the Poker Masters All-Time Money List with over $1.5 million. Koon has over $51 million in total earnings and will end his career as one of poker’s all-time greats.
Erik Seidel last won a high roller event in 2022 at the US Poker Open. The Poker Hall of Famer is one of the few “old school” players who still succeed on the modern ultra-high stakes circuit.
Nick Schulman is an elite pro in tournaments and high-stakes games, with over $1 million in earnings this year, including a 2023 high score of $360,000 at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Main Event.
High-stakes professional Sam Soverel has 20 career victories that have come either inside the PokerGO Studio or the Aria. He’s won over $1.79 million at the Poker Masters series, including taking the Purple Jacket in 2019 for his fifth-largest career cash.
