Engel is now tied with Josh Reichard for second place
Ari Engel recently won his 14th ring at the WSOPC Graton event just weeks after winning his last ring at the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC). He is now tied with Josh Reichard for second place in the career Circuit ring race.
Engel’s most recent ring was achieved in the $400 buy-in Event #10: H.O.R.S.E. at the Graton event. Engel said in a social media post that among the small 60-player field, “I was 2 of them.”
The 13th ring was won in an online event a few weeks ago as part of the WSOP Michigan Circuit Super Series to pass Daniel Lowery, who’s third on the all-time list. This latest victory puts Engel behind only Maurice Hawkins, who holds 15 rings, and ties him with Reichard, who won the WSOPC Grand Victoria Main Event in April for his 14th ring and the $253,073 prize. Reichard was tied with Hawkins temporarily before the career ring leader won his 15th ring in a WSOPC Cherokee high-roller event last May.
A two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Engel took down Event #48: $2,500 No-Limit Hold ’em for $427,399 in 2019 and Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship in the 2021 WSOP to win $317,076. The WSOPC Graton runs from August 10 through August 21, with many big events remaining to be played, including the $1,700 buy-in Main Event that commences on August 18.
