A victory at a Poker Masters event propelled the poker pro to the top of the charts
Alex Foxen has climbed to the top of the PokerGO Tour (PGT) leaderboard after securing a big win in Event #6 of the Poker Masters in Las Vegas. The victory brought him $272,000 in prize money and 272 PGT points, enough to surpass Michael Mizrachi, who had held the lead earlier this season.
Foxen’s success this year includes three titles and 18 cashes across PGT events, showcasing his consistency against elite competition. Mizrachi, who had taken over the leaderboard with wins in the Poker Players Championship and the WSOP Main Event, now sits just behind Foxen as the season pushes toward its final stretch.
While Foxen leads the overall PGT race, he also made progress in the Poker Masters Purple Jacket chase. That leaderboard is still led by Mitchell Halverson, who has already scored three cashes in the first half of the series. With four events remaining, including a $25,000 finale, the competition for the jacket remains wide open.
Other standouts have also made their presence felt. Darren Elias and Chino Rheem each picked up titles over the weekend, moving into the top five of the Purple Jacket race. David Coleman, who won the opening event, and Stephen Song, with four cashes and three final tables, remain close behind Halverson.
The series continues with Event #7, where Jared Hyman holds a commanding chip lead entering the final table. Cary Katz, Matthew McEwan, Masato Yokosawa, John Riordan, and Dan Sepiol will try to chase him down when play resumes Monday at 1 p.m. local time. The Poker Masters concludes Thursday with the $26,000 finale, where every point could determine both the Purple Jacket and the season-long PGT leaderboard.
