Jesse Fullen confirms he’s not shy in front of the camera
Former PokerNews media veteran Jesse Fullen appeared on last Friday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, displaying some of his hidden talents while walking away with some cash. This is the Houston native and Las Vegas resident’s second experience in the game show and reality TV spotlight. He was also featured on an episode of Pawn Stars on The History Channel in 2014.
During the 2023 World Series of Poker, Fullen co-hosted the Chad and Jesse Poker Show with Chad Holloway, but this TV appearance was on the most popular game show of all time. Hosted by the legendary Pat Sajack, Wheel of Fortune has entertained game show fans since 1981, offering contestants an opportunity to solve word puzzles to win cash and prizes.
Fullen made the trip to Los Angeles for the show’s taping in July, which coincided with him resigning from his position at PokerNews to become a project manager for Poker Royalty. He accompanied about a dozen friends and family to the Las Vegas Brewing Company on Friday for dinner and drinks and to watch his performance on the Wheel of Fortune episode. Several players, including, poker pro Jesse Lonis, and “Aceholes” podcast duo Caitlin Comeskey and Nikki Limo, along with some former PokerNews co-workers, watched to see if their colleague would win a life-changing amount of money.
Unfortunately, he failed to win enough to retire from his job at Poker Royalty. But he did win $3,500 for solving the game’s first puzzle. The top winner on the show raked in more than $30,000. Fullen was also a great sport when Sajak asked him to display his double-jointed skills and stomach roll. He had a great time competing on The Wheel and watching the episode for the first time with friends.
