A massive turnout has helped push the total prize pool higher than expected
The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas is set to award a massive top prize of over $3.1 million, marking one of the most significant payouts in poker this year. With a buy-in of $10,400, the prestigious tournament drew a total of 2,392 entries across three starting flights. The impressive turnout highlights the growing excitement and competitive nature of this annual event.
The first-place winner will claim $3,138,900, a figure that also includes a seat to next year’s WPT World Championship. The tournament has already crowned two million-dollar winners earlier in the series, setting the stage for this grand finale where the top seven players will walk away with at least $515,000.
In addition to the massive first prize, second place will earn $2,075,000, while third and fourth place will take home $1,550,000 and $1,150,000, respectively.
Out of the 2,392 entrants, 299 players will cash in, with the minimum payout starting at $19,600. Reaching the top 39 will guarantee a six-figure payday, raising the stakes as players battle for a seat at the final table. The final six will compete for their share of the multi-million-dollar prize pool during the televised final table on Saturday, December 21, beginning at 4:00 PM local time.
This year’s tournament continues the legacy established by Eliot Hudon in 2022 and Dan Sepiol in 2023, who claimed victory in the event’s first two editions. The WPT World Championship has quickly become a marquee event on the poker calendar, attracting top talent from around the world and delivering life-changing payouts.
The combination of high stakes and elite competition ensures this year’s finale will be one to remember.
