Poker players can finish the year strong with another big tournament
December saw a very successful World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship in 2022, and with the WSOP launching a new series, plenty of poker activity is in store for the 2023 holiday season. Tournaments to fit all budgets are upcoming worldwide, giving players a chance to win some of poker’s most sought-after championships.
The WPT World Championship follows its 2022 event at Wynn Las Vegas, with this year’s event starting on November 29, featuring dozens of tournaments and a $40 million guaranteed main event. The $1,100 WPT Prime Championship features $5 million in guaranteed prizes and is another series to watch during the holidays.
The inaugural WSOP Paradise is the newest series to be featured to compete with the WPT World Championship and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which gets underway on December 3. It features 14 events with $51 million in guarantees, with players competing for WSOP bracelets at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The $5,000 WSOP Paradise Main Event has $15 million in guaranteed prizes, running from December 9 to December 14.
A winter edition of the Millionaire Maker is available for a $1,500 buy-in on GGPoker, with the final 100 players earning a seat in the live finale, where the winner takes the biggest cut of the $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
Instead of crossing the pond to the US or Bahamas, players can attend one of the biggest EPT festivals of the year in Prague, which will host a mix of high, medium and low-stakes tournaments.
It begins on December 6 with the €1,100 Eureka main event and continues with more tournaments for the perfect warm-up to one of the biggest EPTs of the year. Many top PokerStars players are expected for the €50,000 super high roller event running from December 10 to 11.
