The move comes shortly after major changes at WPT Global
The World Poker Tour (WPT) has taken another drastic step in its restructuring efforts by shutting down its entire media department. The decision resulted in multiple layoffs, including key personnel who managed WPT’s digital presence, content creation, and media relations. The move follows a series of broader changes within the company as a new CEO takes control of WPT Global.
Lance Bradley, who served as VP of Media, confirmed the layoffs on social media, stating that he and his entire team were let go. The affected employees included experienced professionals such as Jeff Walsh, Tim Fiorvanti, Eric Lusch, Easton Oreman, Evan McColl, Raul Silva, and Scott Pesick. These individuals played crucial roles in managing WPT.com, social media channels, and public relations efforts.
The dismissals occurred without prior warning, mirroring a pattern seen in recent staff reductions across the company. Reports suggest that this latest wave of layoffs is part of a larger overhaul that has included WPT Global. That branch is now led by a new CEO, whose identity remains unclear to many within the organization. Employees have only referred to him as “Oscar” in internal discussions, with another high-ranking official known simply as “7.”
The restructuring is not limited to the media department. WPT’s tech and security division, A5 Labs, has also seen significant job cuts. Sources indicate that approximately 60 employees were dismissed across various departments, marking the third round of mass layoffs in recent months.
WPT has not issued an official statement regarding the leadership changes or the reasoning behind the widespread dismissals. While some believe the restructuring is aimed at reshaping the company’s direction, others speculate that it may be linked to shifting business priorities under the new management. WPT navigates this transitional phase, and the impact of these decisions on the brand’s future remains to be seen.
