This year’s edition will take place from October 28 to November 5
WPT Global has joined the Battle of Malta (BOM) as an official online qualifier partner, marking the first collaboration between the two. The partnership will give players the chance to win entry into the live poker festival’s 10th-anniversary edition, set for October 28 to November 5 at Casino Malta and the Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julian’s.
From August 14 to October 5, WPT Global is running a structured satellite series that offers players multiple ways to secure a €1,280 (US$1,498) package for the €1.5 million (US$1.76 million) guaranteed Main Event. The path begins with freerolls and advances through $0.55, $5.50, and $55 tournaments, with the $55 Sunday finals guaranteeing two Main Event packages each week. Additionally, $1,000 in tournament entries will be added to each $55 final.
The €1,280 (US$1,498) package includes the €600 (US$702) Main Event buy-in and three nights at the Intercontinental Hotel, located next to the tournament floor. Freerolls will run Thursday through Sunday, awarding 25 tickets to the $5.50 step and 250 tickets to the $0.55 step each week.
In addition to the seat package, WPT Global is offering a $100,000 Live Champion Bonus. Any player who qualifies via WPT Global and goes on to win the Main Event will receive the extra cash prize on top of their tournament winnings, with no extra conditions.
The Battle of Malta is known for exceeding expectations — last year’s festival brought in €4.7 million (US$5.49 million) in prize money against a €2 million (US$2.34 million) guarantee. The 2025 autumn edition will feature over €2 million (US$2.34 million) in total guarantees, with the Main Event alone offering €1.5 million (US$1.76 million).
This new partnership expands online access to one of Europe’s most popular poker events, giving players worldwide a low-cost pathway to compete for major prizes in Malta.
