Tyler Brown wins WSOP $1,000 Mystery Millions event

It took 48 levels of poker action, but the poker pro adds $1 million to his wallet

Tyler Brown emerged as the champ of the 2023 WSOP $1,000 Mystery Million Poker event, held at the Horseshoe in Paris Las Vegas. His victory was hard-earned after a tense and draining 48-level match, which saw him face tough competition from a group of 18,188 players. The eight-handed final table was a true test of his skill, but he emerged victorious with a prize of $1,000,000 and the much sought-after WSOP bracelet.

The Mystery Bounty concept has become wildly popular. Whenever you take down an opponent in the game, you can choose to receive a bonus from a wide range of options. These bonuses vary in value from $1,000 to $1,000,000.

The abundance of entries in this year’s tournament has led to a substantial prize pool, enabling the WSOP to provide more opportunities to play for prizes worth $1,000,000. In the initial two days of the tournament, Shant Marashlian accomplished an unprecedented feat by being the first player to become a millionaire after winning a massive prize.

Shortly after Marashlian’s win, Patrick Liang secured his own win by claiming two mystery prizes and garnering an impressive $1,025,000 total. However, instead of hoarding his newfound riches, Liang chose to share his wealth by giving $1,000 to each player who sat with him at the table during his win.

While they were celebrating, the tournament continued to advance. On the third day, the number of players at the table dwindled from 10 until only eight remained. Finally, the remaining players were directed to the strategy table to decide on the winner and who would receive the bracelet.

Brown’s path to the WSOP bracelet was paved with an intense final showdown against Guang Chen. In just three hands, Brown claimed victory thanks to an impressive heroics call that turned the tides in his favor. With the majority of the chips now in his possession, Brown had secured himself a dominant lead and was on track to win his first WSOP bracelet. When Brown found a suitor for his Q-7 in the final hand, it was all over.
