Bryn Kenney reclaims the spot with another solid performance at the felt
Bryn Kenney has again taken over the top spot on poker’s all-time money list after winning the $250,000 Luxon Invitational event at the 2023 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series London, increasing his career live tournament earnings to over $65 million. Kenney now leads Justin Bonomo by $1,083,956 on the current leaderboard.
Kenney earned a $6,860,000 payday as the champion of the super-high-stakes tournament that began with 118 entrants at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House.
“It’s so surreal,” Kenney said after his big win. “It’s crazy. Just I don’t know where I am, really, but I’m in a good place, standing here at the end of the tournament.”
Remarkably, this isn’t Kenney’s biggest payday. In 2019, he struck a heads-up deal in another Triton invitational event in London. That £1,050,000 ($1,339,584) buy-in event was won by Aaron Zang, with Kenney taking his largest career cash in the deal to take home $20,606,421.
“I didn’t get to hold up the trophy then, but now I can hold up the trophy. I’m so blessed and thankful for this and everything,” said Kenney.
Thanks to this latest win, Kenney is now a three-time Triton champion. His $37.6 million gives him an almost $13.5 million advantage over second-ranked Jason Koon, the all-time Triton leader with eight titles.
Talai Shakerchi took second place and $4,650,000, his second multi-million-dollar tournament cash in 2023. In March, he also earned $3,250,000 for his Triton Vietnam $100,000 main event title. The poker enthusiast and British hedge fund manager has almost $18.5 million in live tournament lifetime earnings.
