A trio of thieves broke in on Christmas Eve, but no one was injured
Three masked individuals remain at large following a Christmas Eve robbery at Johnny’s Social Card Club in Wichita Falls, TX. The incident, which occurred at approximately 3:45 AM local time, involved the suspects breaking into the poker room while it was closed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the burglary.
Surveillance footage captured the suspects arriving in a gray Kia Telluride, a modern SUV, before they broke into the establishment and targeted an ATM inside. They made off with cash and quickly fled the scene. Despite the video evidence, identifying details remain scarce, as the suspects wore masks and their vehicle’s license plate was not visible in the footage released to the public.
Authorities have described one of the suspects as a medium-built male under six feet tall, though further details are unavailable. Wichita Falls police are relying on community assistance to track down the culprits, with Crime Stoppers encouraging tips, which can be provided anonymously.
Johnny’s Social Card Club, a small five-table poker room in northern Texas, is situated two hours west of Durant, Oklahoma, home to Choctaw Resort and Casino. The casino is a significant player in the region’s gambling scene and an active opponent of legalized poker rooms in Texas.
This robbery is not an isolated incident in the state. Texas poker rooms have faced similar challenges in recent years, including an attempted armed robbery at Legends Poker Room in Houston, thwarted by a security guard in January 2022.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information about the Wichita Falls robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at wcfcrime.com or by calling (940) 322-9888. With no solid leads two weeks after the crime, the community’s input could prove crucial in bringing the suspects to justice.
