Pamela Belote now has the most WSOP Circuit rings among all female players
Pamela Belote has solidified her place in World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) history by setting a new record for the most WSOPC rings won by a female player. Her victory in the Ladies Event on Sunday brought her total to eight rings, breaking the tie she previously held with La Sengphet, who has seven.
Belote has been a prominent presence on the WSOP Circuit, frequently making deep runs in events. Just last week, she reached the final table in two tournaments at the WSOP Circuit Choctaw Durant. Despite coming close, she narrowly missed titles in both the $600 Escalating Bounty event, where her pocket aces fell to a flopped two pair, and the $400 Monster Stack, where she finished fifth. These near misses likely made her win in the Ladies Event even more rewarding.
The $250 buy-in Ladies Event drew 115 entries, creating a prize pool of $23,000. Belote arrived at the final table as one of the shorter stacks but managed to recover, building her stack throughout the event. She ultimately faced Bonnie Weitzel, another WSOPC ring winner, in heads-up play. The two players vied for the top prize of $5,920.
The decisive hand saw Belote holding ace-seven against Weitzel’s king-eight. Although Weitzel initially pulled ahead with a king on the flop, a rivered flush secured Belote’s victory and sent Weitzel to the rail with $3,808 for second place.
Following her win, Belote expressed her joy, acknowledging the effort it took to reach this milestone. “I literally travel everywhere trying to accomplish this,” she said, adding that while she plans to slow down, she might still compete at upcoming events like the one in Tunica.
With this historic achievement, Belote has set a new benchmark for women in poker, highlighting her consistency and determination on the circuit.
