The WSOP 2023 series is going to set a bunch of records

Players from everywhere have descended on Las Vegas to participate in the events

The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has smashed previous records and is steering towards creating a new attendance record. This live poker event has become a much-awaited festival in the gaming world, promising high-stakes tournaments. The attendance rate has surged by over 10% when compared to last year’s figures. Notably, the 2023 edition includes numerous live events, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience.

Over 68,000 individuals have battled it out for a total prize pool exceeding $75 million and over 12 bracelets so far over the course of two weeks. The WSOP unveiled the Mystery Millions as a $1,000 buy-in event, luring in a staggering 18,188 contestants. A portion of each buy-in, $300, was allocated to the prize pool, enabling two players to come away with $1 million in funding.

The WSOP Razz tournament saw a record-breaking turnout this year, as well, with 556 entries for the $1,500 event surpassing the previous record set in 2012. Meanwhile, the $300 Gladiators of Poker tournament was dubbed the richest WSOP event ever and succeeded in attracting 28,371 participants/ This made it the second-largest event in the tournament’s history.

The Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s) casino and Paris Las Vegas are hosting the event for the second time. The WSOP will be ongoing until July 18, and the Main Event begins on July 3. Ty Stewart, the director of the WSOP, anticipates that this year’s Main Event will surpass the previous record set in 2006 with 8,773 players. This feat, should it happen, will result in increased winnings for the victorious players.
