Several players have already won huge cash prizes at Wynn Las Vegas
The World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship at the Wynn Las Vegas festival has awarded another six-figure payday on Sunday after Ian Bradley outlasted a field of 77 players to win the $10,500 NLHE 8-Max and a first-place prize of $240,625.
It was Bradley’s fourth six-figure cash of 2023 and the second-biggest of his career. Bradley has had a breakout year, racking up nearly $983,000 in winnings to take him over the $2 million mark. High-stakes regular and former top-ranked online player Joao Simao of Brazil took $154,000 as runner-up.
A couple of WPT Ambassadors also fared well, including Brad Owen, who took his second-largest career live cash in third place for $107,800.
WPT Global ambassador Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau was also at the final table. He bought in for four bullets, while Owen only bought into the tournament once, as he showed live on Instagram. Yau would play well enough to make a profit, taking fourth place for $77,000 after being outflopped holding pocket aces, according to the WPT live updates.
“We have a long month of poker, and maybe things will work out better next time around,” said Yau on Instagram. “Have a lot of poker to play, nice to make an FT and try to make a run at stuff. I need that good old end-of-the-year bailout win again. I’m kinda stuck on the year a little bit in tournaments, I’m a lot stuck. Fourth is a good result.”
Other noteworthy players to finish in the money were Andrew ‘LuckyChewy’ Lichtenberger (8th for $28,875), Jim Collopy (7th for $35,035) and Pavel Plesuv (6th for $44,275).
