The poker tournament series begins May 14 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa
Professional poker players and local enthusiasts are preparing for the highly anticipated Oklahoma State Poker Championship, which officially returns to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa on May 14. This 11-day series promises an intensive schedule featuring 19 individual trophy events designed to test the skill and endurance of every participant.
The festival concludes with a Main Event starting on May 22. This event will receive comprehensive live coverage from major industry outlets to document the crowning of a new state champion.
The action starts at 11 a.m. on opening day with a $300 Series Opener No-Limit Hold’em tournament followed by a $200 Double Green Chip Bounty in the evening. This structured buildup leads into the $300 Weekend Opener, which offers four separate starting flights to accommodate a large field of competitors.
Players who survive their initial sessions will return on May 17 to compete for the first major title of the residency. Organizers have curated a diverse selection of games beyond traditional Hold’em, including Pot-Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo variants.
Inclusion is a primary focus of this series as the schedule specifically designates two seniors events for players aged 50 and over alongside a dedicated ladies’ event. For those looking for daily competition, the venue will host $140 deepstack tournaments every night of the series.
These preliminary matches serve as the perfect warm-up for the $600 Main Event, which remains the centerpiece of the entire championship. With two starting sessions on May 22 and May 23, the tournament will narrow down the field for a final showdown on May 24.
