Texas Card House Houston is getting ready for a monumental poker series this January
The Moneymaker Tour holds events at different locations around the US and has announced an exciting new partnership with Houston’s Texas Card House. The Tour aims to help players “have their own ordinary to extraordinary moments” and will hold its first event in Texas in 2024.
The Moneymaker Tour will start the new year with 12 days of poker action between January 10 and January 22. Texas Card House Houston, the first private poker club in the state, will host at least 12 trophy events at the series, with buy-ins ranging from $150 to $1,500.
The Moneymaker Tour was devised by ACR Team Pro and 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker. He and executive manager Tony Burns have also reported the series will have over $500,000 in guarantees.
The Main Event is scheduled to run from January 16 to January 22, featuring a $1,500 buy-in and a $250,000 guarantee. Final table action will be live-streamed on January 22.
Burns was excited to begin the new year “in a new state with a new partner.” He also talked about Texas’ poker transformation that provides “great action” while communicating their enthusiasm about having the “first-ever stop in Houston” in January.
Texas Card House chief operating officer Victor Leone dubbed the new collaboration “a key highlight” in their ongoing endeavors to provide exceptional experiences for Texas poker players.
The inaugural Moneymaker Tour event was at the Poker Room at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in May 2023 and has been rising in popularity since then. In September, the third event at the Hard Rock Casino in Cincinnati was the first to have a $1 million guaranteed Main Event, with Joseph Bakun outlasting 788 players to win the over $208,000 first-place prize.
