The tournament arrives in Minnesota for the first time on August 1-3
The Roughrider Poker Tour (RPT) is bringing its tournament action to Minnesota for the first time this August, with the debut of RPT Jackpot Junction. The event will run from August 1 to 3 at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, offering local and regional players a chance to compete for serious prize money.
The centerpiece of the stop is a $640 buy-in Main Event, which features two starting flights and a Championship Day. Players will begin with 60,000 chips and 40-minute blind levels, with each flight playing down to 15% of the field. Everyone who reaches Day 2 will already be in the money.
Tournament play kicks off on August 1 with a $160 satellite, where roughly the top fifth of the field will earn seats into the Main Event. The first starting flight takes place later that day, followed by another satellite and a second starting flight on August 2. The remaining players will return on August 3 to compete for the title.
To wrap up the weekend, the series will also include a $250 Second Chance Tournament, offering players another opportunity to walk away with a win.
The RPT has seen a strong 2025 season so far, highlighted by April’s Montana State Poker Championship. That event saw Dan Burcham and Andrew Hilleren make a deal at the final table, each taking home $29,000. Several other players, including Richard Bennett, Austin Gates, and Shane Broesder, also cashed in that event.
