Actress Julianne Hough takes the title in the life-changing game
Actress Julianne Hough adds her name to a long list of celebrities to participate in live poker. She won a recent Poker Power Ladies Home Game tournament featuring powerful women to encourage ladies to become more self-confident.
The tournament was held at the home of NYU professor and business advisor Suzy Welch in partnership with women’s card-playing organization Poker Power. Celebrities in attendance included Poker Power founder Jenny Just, actress America Ferrera, producer Desiree Gruber and designer Rebecca Minkoff, among many others.
The goal of Poker Power is to instruct one million women how to play poker and encourage them to use what they’ve learned in other facets of their lives, which is what the recent tournament hoped to promote.
In an interview with People Magazine, Just said:
"By creating a safe space for female-identifying and non-binary individuals to learn the essential skills endemic to poker and business – skills like negotiation, risk-taking, and capital allocation – poker power is taking a unique and scalable approach to closing the gender wealth and equity gaps."
"Poker is used to enhance confidence, emotional intelligence, and assertiveness while sharpening strategic thinking and decision-making skills that translate to all areas of life, from classrooms to boardrooms,"
"Our poker lessons give you real-world examples of how poker skills apply to everyday situations and give you plenty of opportunity to practice."

Hough has proven in the past that she’s a tough competitor. The dancer and actress was the winner of Dancing With the Stars on two different seasons before ending this tournament with all the chips. No one knows exactly what she won, as the tournament wasn’t played with real money.
