Two players shared the final spotlight, but not the final prize
The Poker Masters tournament series wrapped up in dramatic fashion at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, with Brandon Wilson and David Coleman sharing the spotlight. Wilson captured the finale, a $25,200 No-Limit Hold’em event, for $464,000 after a heads-up chop, while Coleman’s strong run throughout the series secured him the coveted Purple Jacket as overall champion.
Wilson entered the last day of play with a sizable chip lead over the field, with Dylan Linde sitting closest but still far behind in chips. Early eliminations came quickly, as David Chen bowed out in seventh place for $63,000 after his pocket pair failed in a four-way pot. Soon after, one of the tournament’s most talked-about hands developed.
Jason Koon looked primed to seize control when his pocket queens connected for top set on the flop against Coleman’s ace-king. But the board ran out unfavorably, completing a straight for Coleman on the river and crippling Koon’s stack. Koon was eliminated shortly after in sixth place, taking home $86,600.
From there, the final table continued with notable exits. Nick Schulman, recently inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, lost a coin flip to Doug Lee and finished fifth for $118,100. Coleman then eliminated Linde in fourth, earning $157,500, before Wilson dispatched Lee in third place for $220,500.
Heads-up play began with Coleman holding a 2:1 chip advantage, but both players agreed to chop the remaining prize money. Wilson would ultimately take the victory for $464,000, while Coleman collected $355,000 for second place.
Coleman’s series success was highlighted by a win in the opening $1 million guaranteed event, helping him secure the Purple Jacket. Wilson’s performance further cemented his rise among high-stakes regulars, boosting his live tournament earnings to just under $8 million. The conclusion marked the end of a competitive series that delivered both high drama and career-defining moments.
