All awards will follow the same points system, which factors in buy-in levels, field sizes, and final placements
Poker Dream has confirmed a significant update to its Player of the Year program, adding two new award categories for the 2026 season. Alongside the returning Dream Player of the Year title, the series will now feature Ladies Player of the Year and Regional Player of the Year honors.
The expansion reflects Poker Dream’s push to recognize a wider range of achievements across Asia’s growing poker scene. After a strong response to the program in 2025, the tour is broadening its focus to include both female competitors and standout performers from specific regions.
For 2026, players will compete across three separate leaderboards. The Dream Player of the Year award remains the top prize, honoring the strongest overall performer throughout the season. The winner will earn a package worth $15,000, combining tournament and hotel credits that can be used during the 2027 season.
The newly introduced Ladies Player of the Year title is designed to highlight female participation and success. This award will go to the highest-ranked woman on the main leaderboard, with extra points available through non-freeroll Ladies Events. The total prize value for this category is $5,000.
Regional Player of the Year adds another competitive layer by rewarding the best-performing player from each of nine Asian regions. These include China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. Each regional winner will receive credits valued at $3,000.
The 2026 points race officially begins at Poker Dream 20 Malaysia on January 29 and will continue through the end of the season, setting the stage for a broader and more inclusive title chase.
