Daniel Maor emerged as the winner, taking home $110,000 on the $3,300 buy-in event
The PGT True Classic Rags to Riches event drew a deep and competitive field as several well-known pros joined rising talents at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The $3,300 buy-in tournament attracted 164 entries, creating a strong lineup that included WPT champions and multiple WSOP bracelet winners. When the dust settled, Daniel Maor emerged as the winner, taking home $110,000 and adding another strong result to his growing resume.
Maor, who broke out last year with a major WSOP Online Championship win, entered the final table with a workable stack but far behind several top contenders. Early play didn’t go his way, and by the time Michael Wang was knocked out in sixth place, Maor had lost a sizable portion of his chips. Still, he remained patient, finding timely spots to rebuild as the table tightened.
A key turning point came when Maor doubled through Calvin Anderson after his ace-ten outdrew ace-queen. Momentum slowly shifted, but the action remained volatile. Terry Fleischer surged into the lead with a big pot, while Jared Jaffee exited shortly after. Anderson briefly regained ground, only to fall short when Maor flopped a full house against his top pair in a pivotal hand.
That pot pushed Maor into the lead, and he extended the gap by eliminating Anderson in third place. Heads-up play between Maor and Fleischer began with a wide chip disparity, and the final hand came quickly. Maor’s pocket nines held against ace-king, securing the title.
With this win, Maor continues his rapid ascent in the live tournament scene. The PGT now shifts toward its Last Chance Series on January 5, giving players one more shot at qualifying for the season-ending $1 million Championship freeroll.
