Some of the top names in poker made the final list
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has concluded the nomination period, confirming this year’s 10 potential inductees for the Poker Hall of Fame. The list includes prominent figures from the global poker community.
Annually, after the rules for induction were changed a couple of years ago, only one new member is inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Despite ongoing discussions about increasing the number of nominees and inductees, the format remains unchanged this summer, leaving the selection to just one out of the 10 nominees.
Leading the nominees are Finnish poker star Patrik Antonius, British poker pioneer Barny Boatman, and six-time WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh. They are joined by classic poker players Bill Smith, ‘Miami’ John Cernuto, Ted Forrest, and Kathy Liebert. Additionally, Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow, industry expert Matt Savage, and poker entrepreneur Isai Scheinberg are also on the list.
The full list includes:
- Patrik Antonius
- Josh Arieh
- Barny Boatman
- ‘Miami’ John Cernuto
- Ted Forrest
- Kathy Liebert
- Mike Matusow
- Matt Savage
- Isai Scheinberg
- Bill Smith
The current members of the Poker Hall of Fame will consider these nominees for induction. Each member has 10 votes to distribute among the nominees as they choose. They can allocate their votes in any manner, such as giving all ten votes to a single nominee or splitting them unequally among several nominees. For example, a member might give five votes to Josh Arieh, three votes to Patrik Antonius, and two votes to Barny Boatman.
