The upcoming series will be the first time the MSPT has visited the casino
The Major Series of Poker: The Tour is set to break new ground with its first-ever stop at Arizona’s Talking Stick Resort. Season 17 continues later this month with a full slate of events scheduled from January 24 through February 1.
The highlight of the visit is the Diamond Poker Championship, a $1,100 buy-in Main Event carrying a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The tournament will feature three starting flights, giving players multiple chances to advance to Day 2.
Day 1A kicks off Thursday, Jan. 29, at 10:15 a.m. local time, with late registration open until early evening. Players begin with 30,000 chips and play 40-minute levels. Additional opening flights will run on Friday and Saturday at the same start time.
All surviving players will merge for Day 2 on Sunday, Feb. 1, starting at 11 a.m., with play continuing until a champion is crowned. The structure is designed to balance accessibility with deep, competitive play.
Beyond the Main Event, the schedule includes six Gold Card tournaments. Options range from an $800 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em to a $300 Pot-Limit Omaha and a $300 Monster Stack. A steady lineup of satellites will also be available throughout the series.
The stop is expected to draw a national crowd. MSPT Podcast hosts Chad Holloway and Kyna England are among those planning to attend, with both competing and recording a live episode of the show from the venue.
Following Arizona, the MSPT heads straight into a busy stretch. Upcoming stops include the Venetian in Las Vegas, JACK Cleveland, and Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, keeping momentum high as the tour moves deeper into the season.
