Codere has introduced a poker room at one of its casinos, with plans to launch more
Spain-based gaming operator Codere is helping poker fans in Mexico in their push to make the game a certified sport after launching the country’s first dedicated poker room at the Codere Meneo casino in Mexico City last week. The company also announced plans for its Codere Poker Series brand, with both initiatives expected to provide Mexicans with an unprecedented entertainment experience.
During the inauguration of the new poker room, Codere Director of Operations Francisco Vidal Caamaño highlighted the initiative’s dedication to innovation and how fast it was developed. The facility is promoted as a paradise for poker lovers, with ten professional tables, including one created for live broadcasts and several private gaming spaces. Hours are from 4 PM to 1:30 AM on weekdays and until 2:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
The objective is to offer a complete poker experience, from cash games to tournaments and festivals. Codere is a leader in the gaming industry, with more than 85 casinos in 25 Mexican states and several more poker rooms currently under construction.
Codere is live in six other Latin American countries and has hosted poker tournaments throughout the region. If things go well, Codere could possibly host dedicated poker rooms at all of its properties, although the company didn’t confirm this.
Codere is in a solid position since experiencing several changes, such as a takeover by shareholders and creditors and the launch of Codere Online. Last week, the company reported €335 million ($359.35 million) in operating revenue for the second quarter of 2023, a 5% increase from the previous year.
