The MSPT is on a roll as it continues to gain momentum across the US
The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) has officially surpassed $200 million in awarded prize money, reaching this milestone just weeks into 2025. Since its launch in 2009, the MSPT has become one of the leading mid-stakes poker tours in the US, offering deepstack No-Limit Hold’em tournaments designed for recreational and semi-professional players.
Entering the new year, the MSPT had already distributed $176 million in winnings. Now, after just three stops in 2025, the total payout has climbed to $201,250,183. One of the most recent highlights came at Bally’s Black Hawk Casino, where poker pro Faraz Jaka secured victory in a $1,110 Main Event, earning $127,849.
The tour has expanded significantly over the years, starting as the Minnesota State Poker Tour before broadening its reach across multiple states. Over its history, it has hosted 275 Main Events and 69 Regional Events, consistently attracting large player fields.
Next, the MSPT is set to return to Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a venue it has not visited since before the pandemic. The upcoming $1,110 Main Event, known as the “100 Grand Stack,” will feature a $500,000 guarantee and run from January 28 to February 2. Following that, the tour will head to Las Vegas for the Poker Bowl IX at the Venetian, which boasts a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and a live-streamed final table.
The MSPT’s continued success reflects its strong presence in the poker world, appealing to both casual and professional players looking for high-quality tournament action. It looks like 2025 is going to continue to be a good year for this organization, taking its record prize distribution to a new high.
