The upcoming poker festival in Cyprus offers great possibilities for players
The Merit Poker Gangster Series is set to run from November 22 through December 3 at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel-Casino in Northern Cyprus with more than $4 million in prize guarantees.
Two satellites will be held on November 21, starting with a freeroll satellite at 6 PM with $25 rebuys for entries into the $275 NL Satellite to the Warm Up that begins at 9:30 PM local time, where players can earn at least 15 seats to the $2,200 NL Warm Up. The winner will take home the biggest share of the $700,000 prize pool guaranteed for the tournament, starting at noon on November 22 and wrapping up on November 26.
The $5,300 Gangster Series High Roller event is the next big tournament on November 26 through November 28, which should attract many notable players to Northern Cyprus and is expected to go well over the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The $3,300 buy-in Gangster Series Main Event carries a $1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool, with Day 1a starting at noon on November 28, with three additional flights. Day 4 will be the final day of the event and is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on December 3.
Russian pro Andrey Pateychuk overcame 457 players to win the title the last time this event ran in 2018, taking home $280,643 from the $2 million guaranteed prize pool after cutting a four-way deal.
Many Merit Crystal Cove regulars are expected to attend the series, like Turkish pro Seref Dursun Anar, with 118 cashes in Merit Crystal Cove tournaments, and top players such as Michel Habib, Makram Saber, Orhan Ates and Dmitry Gromov.
