Coach Lue may have given Brent Hart the push he needed to win

Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue CRmade an unexpected appearance in Las Vegas last Friday. He was recognized as one of the hundreds of fans on the rail during a World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament at Horseshoe Las Vegas, attending the event to support his friend Brent Hart, one of the players at the final table.

Hart picked up the win in the $5,00 buy-in No-Limit Hold ’em 8-handed event, securing his first career WSOP bracelet and a $660,284 prize. Lue was among the many fans celebrating during six-handed play when Hart survived after catching a straight on the river to remain in the hunt for the title.

Hart also shed some light on how he and Lue know each other. “These are my dogs,” he told WSOP.com. “I’ve been playing poker with these guys since I started playing poker, so it feels good to do it in front of them. It feels good to do this with them here because they’re all great poker players. I might be the worst one out of the group.”

“T-Lue, come on, man!” declared Hart as he celebrated with the NBA coach. Hart was close to elimination several times before picking up the win, including a clash with Kartik Ved with four players remaining when he hit a straight on the river to stay in contention.

“I’m looking forward to telling my mom, my sister, my aunts, my uncles,” said Hart after the big win. “I got a big family. We actually have a family reunion this weekend on Sunday. Maybe I’ll be there to show off my bracelet.”
