Former NFL player Adrian Peterson got into a fight with another player after a hand
A poker night at a Houston social club turned chaotic when former NFL star Adrian Peterson got into a physical altercation over a disputed hand. The incident took place on May 27 at JokerStars, a private club popular among local poker players. According to TMZ, the confrontation escalated quickly and was captured on video.
The footage shows Peterson, 39, and another player exchanging punches at the table after a heated argument. Bystanders rushed in to break up the fight, which lasted only a few moments but created a buzz both in the club and online once the video surfaced.

Speaking with TMZ afterward, Peterson downplayed the conflict, describing it as a “brotherly” disagreement between longtime acquaintances. “Me and the guy, we’re cool,” he said. “We’ve known each other. It was literally like a brother situation. We agreed to disagree, we had our words, and we threw blows — and that was it.”
Peterson expressed regret about the fight, saying it wasn’t something he’s proud of. He confirmed that no police were called, and the club didn’t take disciplinary action. Both he and the other person involved walked away with minor injuries. Peterson noted that his own injuries came from falling into a chair rather than from punches.
No charges were filed, and authorities confirmed there was no active investigation. Although Peterson admitted alcohol was being served at the event, he denied that it directly contributed to the scuffle.
A future Hall of Famer in the eyes of many football fans, Peterson is best remembered for his time with the Minnesota Vikings. He ranks fifth all-time in NFL rushing yards with 14,918 and has also played for several other teams. In recent years, he’s stayed active through celebrity boxing appearances and playing poker at events around the country.
